On September 30, a briefing was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation, dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the country’s Independence, the 30th anniversary of its permanent Neutrality, and the outcomes of the Halk Maslahaty session held in Ashgabat.

The event brought together journalists, representatives of the Turkmen diaspora in Russia, and students studying at Russian universities. Participants were presented with an overview of Turkmenistan’s achievements during its years of sovereign development and its efforts to strengthen its position on the international stage.

During the speeches, special attention was given to the large-scale initiatives of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedow, announced at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, as well as the significance of the Constitutional Law “On the Legal Foundations of the Policy of Peace and Trust of Neutral Turkmenistan,” adopted in September. This document was described as a strategic step in reinforcing the country’s peacekeeping line.

Speakers highlighted the symbolic nature of the current year, which marks several anniversaries simultaneously — the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Neutrality and the 80th anniversary of the United Nations. In this context, a high-level international forum scheduled in Ashgabat in December will be a significant event.
