27.09.2025 | 00:45 |An international forum dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality will be held on October 10 at the Palais des Nations in Geneva. Organized by the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN, the event is intended to be one of the most significant international platforms of the year for discussing the role of neutrality as a tool for strengthening peace, trust, and sustainable development.
The event will highlight the high international standing of Turkmenistan's foreign policy doctrine thanks to its participants representing global politics, diplomacy, and international law.
Key speakers at the Forum include former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad; Director-General of the UN Office at Geneva Tatyana Valovaya; heads of diplomatic missions and high-ranking representatives of international organizations.
Their participation demonstrates the international community's recognition of Turkmenistan's unique experience in using its neutral status to ensure stability in Central Asia.
The economic dimension of neutrality will be emphasized. Representatives of the business community, including the heads of major international companies and business associations, will actively participate in the Forum.
Their presentations will focus on practical issues, such as how permanent neutrality contributes to economic development, attracting investment, and expanding international cooperation in key sectors.
The Forum, which will be held on October 10, 2025, at UN Headquarters in Geneva, is open to the public. Everyone, including media representatives and experts, can participate in both online and offline formats. Advance registration is required at this link: https://indico.un.org/event/1019571/.
