Xi, Putin, Trump, and other heads of state congratulated Turkmenistan on Independence Day
27.09.2025 | 00:15 |President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received congratulatory messages from heads of state and international partners on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the country's independence. World leaders highlighted Turkmenistan's achievements in economic and social development, as well as its important role in ensuring regional and global stability.
Chinese President Xi Jinping called China a "comprehensive strategic partner" of Turkmenistan and expressed their readiness to jointly deepen political mutual trust.
"The Chinese side is ready, together with the Turkmen side... to promote the alignment of development strategies and advance the Belt and Road Initiative with the goal of building a Community of Shared Future for China and Turkmenistan", Xi Jinping's message stated.
Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that the "deep strategic partnership" between the countries is "dynamically developing in all areas."
"This undoubtedly meets the fundamental interests of the friendly peoples of Russia and Turkmenistan and is consistent with ensuring stability and security in Central Asia and the Caspian region", Vladimir Putin emphasized.
President of United States Donald Trump reaffirmed his firm support for Turkmenistan's sovereignty and independence.
"We consistently and firmly support the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence of your country, and we express deep respect for your policy of positive neutrality", Trump said, expressing hope for "expanding economic opportunities for mutual prosperity."
Central Asian leaders and their neighbors in the region also expressed their desire to take cooperation to a new, higher level.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed confidence that "strategic partnership relations" and upcoming high-level contacts "will take bilateral and multilateral cooperation to a new level."
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted the "high dynamics of Kazakh-Turkmen cooperation," which is in keeping with the "spirit of strategic partnership," and praised Turkmenistan for "strengthening its status of positive neutrality under the auspices of the UN."
President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon expressed interest in expanding relations based on the principle of "deep strategic partnership."
President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov noted that "further deepening of cooperation in the political, economic, and cultural spheres will contribute to the prosperity of our peoples."
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev emphasized that the countries are united by "traditional friendly, benevolent, good-neighborly, and partnership relations" linked by "common roots and national spiritual values."
President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian noted that "historical, religious, and cultural commonalities" provide a favorable foundation for developing mutually beneficial cooperation.
Support for Turkmenistan's development was also expressed by other world leaders:
President of France Emmanuel Macron highlighted "France's co-sponsorship" of the UN General Assembly resolution on Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, which was renewed in 2025.
President of Italy Sergio Mattarella emphasized the importance of "the regional dimension of our cooperation... particularly in the Italy-Central Asia format," as a privileged platform for promoting peace and sustainable development.
Emperor of Japan Naruhito expressed satisfaction with his recent personal meeting with the President of Turkmenistan in April 2025.
King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia and UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan extended warm wishes for continued progress and prosperity.
President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan expressed gratitude for the "high-level organization of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries," while President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko noted the "significant potential of interstate partnership."
