 Turkmenistan and IGNFI Outline Cooperation Prospects in the Agricultural Sector

On the occasion of the 34th Anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with Olivier Delhomme, the head of the French company IGNFI, who arrived in the country to participate in the festive events.

The guest warmly congratulated the head of state on Independence Day and noted that this was his first visit to Turkmenistan. He emphasized that Ashgabat and the cultural heritage of the Turkmen people made a great impression on him, and he highly praised the dynamics of the country's socio-economic development.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the businessman's visit would contribute to the further strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation. During the meeting, it was noted that the agro-industrial complex is a priority area, ensuring the food security of Turkmenistan.

Particular attention is being paid to building the capacity of agriculture, improving the reclamation status of lands, increasing crop yields, and implementing modern technologies. In this context, the President stressed the significance of cooperating with foreign companies, including IGNFI, which possess advanced technologies.

The parties noted that the digitalization of the agricultural sector opens new opportunities for sustainable development and the introduction of innovative practices, such as precision farming. The President confirmed Turkmenistan’s readiness to consider the company's proposals for expanding the partnership.

Olivier Delhomme expressed IGNFI’s interest in participating in joint projects in the field of agriculture. At the close of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished the company's head success in his work and expressed confidence in the prospects for continued cooperation.
