Oriented on making people closer

National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, met with Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in celebrations marking the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence.

The symbolic gesture of Minnikhanov, who made his first foreign visit since winning the election to fraternal Turkmenistan, was especially noted by both sides as a clear indication of the high level of bilateral relations.

During the meeting, Minnikhanov conveyed warm greetings from Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The guest also expressed sincere congratulations on Turkmenistan's Independence Day.

Warmly welcoming Minnikhanov, the National Leader of Turkmenistan, in turn, congratulated him on his convincing victory in the recent presidential elections in the Republic of Tatarstan. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also conveyed his best wishes to the leadership of the Russian Federation.

The two leaders expressed great satisfaction with the dynamic and effective nature of the Turkmen-Tatarstan partnership, which is steadily developing within the framework of the interstate dialogue with the Russian Federation. During the talks, particular attention was paid to the development of economic ties. In this context, the key role of the Joint Turkmen-Tatarstan Working Group on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical, and Cultural Cooperation was emphasized.

Beyond economic cooperation, the parties reaffirmed the importance of expanding humanitarian contacts, including in scientific and educational spheres. It was noted that delegations and scientists from both republics actively participate in major international events.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed firm confidence that Rustam Minnikhanov's visit will give new impetus to the further development of Turkmen-Tatar cooperation and the strengthening of friendly relations between the two fraternal peoples.
