Turkmenistan will host the next meeting of the CIS Heads of Government Council in 2026.
29.09.2025 | 23:45 |On September 29, the regular meeting of the CIS Heads of Government Council (CHGC) was held in Minsk. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Khodjamyrat Geldimyradov represented Turkmenistan.
The meeting discussed 15 issues focused on deepening economic integration and digitalization. The following approved documents are of the greatest strategic significance for Turkmenistan:
The Digitalization Strategy for the Main Multimodal Transport Corridors of the CIS – a document directly addresses Turkmenistan's interests in developing logistics, optimizing processes, and increasing transit speeds along the East–West and North–South corridors;
The Action Plan for the Implementation of the Second Stage of the CIS Economic Development Strategy to 2030 sets out joint measures to expand production and investment cooperation and ensure the digitalization of national economies;
The CIS Scientific and Technological Development Strategy until 2035, as well as the Concept for Cooperation in the Development of the Information Society and Digital Economy for the same period;
The Concept for Pricing in Construction Activities; and the Agreement on Cooperation in Preventing the Development of Locust Pests.
The next meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State is planned for the first half of 2026 in Turkmenistan. This decision underscores the country's growing role as a central platform for dialogue within the Commonwealth.
