Ashgabat, July 25 | ORIENT. Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Turkmenistan Ji Shumin. The diplomat presented his credentials to the head of state, which symbolizes the official start of his mission in the country.

Strategic Cooperation and Mutual Respect

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to meet, Ambassador Ji Shumin stressed that China attaches great importance to the development of strategic cooperation with Turkmenistan, which has demonstrated confident progress in large-scale reforms. He conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from Chinese President Xi Jinping to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people. The diplomat also noted that China highly values Turkmenistan's important international initiatives, which have always enjoyed broad support from the international community.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that Ji Shumin's activities in this responsible post will make a worthy contribution to the further strengthening of comprehensive relations between the two countries. The head of the Turkmen state, in turn, conveyed his best wishes in return to Chinese President Xi Jinping, emphasizing that China is one of Turkmenistan's most important strategic partners.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov especially noted that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to further expanding interstate dialogue at all levels. "Our countries have centuries-old friendly relations, and current cooperation is built on the principles of equality, mutual respect and trust," the President said. He noted with satisfaction that in recent years, the partnership between Turkmenistan and China has reached a qualitatively new level, as evidenced by regular mutual visits and consultations.

It was emphasized the importance of the meeting between President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the second Central Asia-China summit in Astana, where the commitment to deepening cooperation was confirmed.

The economic sphere remains a priority: China has been Turkmenistan's main trade, economic and investment partner for many years. The large Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline was called a shining example of effective and mutually beneficial partnership in the fuel and energy sector. Turkmenistan also advocates further coordination of its "Revival of the Great Silk Road" strategy with China's "One Belt, One Road" initiative.

The cultural and humanitarian sphere is an integral part of the dialogue. The parties paid special attention to deepening ties in science, education, healthcare and culture, expressing confidence that cooperation programs in the field of education will help strengthen trust and mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries.
