Türkiye Sets Record for Exports in September: $22.6 Billion

Türkiye reached a record level of exports in September 2025, amounting to $22.6 billion, which is a 3% increase compared to the same period last year. Türkiye’s Minister of Trade, Ömer Bolat, noted that with this result, the country has already achieved its year-end export target of $390 billion in goods and services.

Bolat stated that exports grew in 7 out of the 9 months of 2025, which enabled the total export volume to increase by $8 billion since the beginning of the year. The main drivers of this growth were automobiles, chemical products, and the defense industry.

Exports in September reached their peak, and Bolat added that despite seasonal fluctuations in February and August, exports have continued to grow. He also highlighted that exports to the European Union rose by 8.2%, reaching $86.8 billion.

Imports to Türkiye in September grew by 8.8%, totaling $29.5 billion, largely due to rising gold and automobile prices.

Bolat emphasized that despite economic challenges in global markets, Türkiye continues to steadily increase its exports. Looking ahead, exports to the European Union are expected to reach $115 billion.
