 Turkmenistan and Japan Discuss Scientific and Technical Cooperation in Tokyo

A delegation from Turkmenistan, headed by the Rector of the Oguz Khan Engineering and Technology University, G. Mezilov, visited Japan on October 3–4 and held negotiations with representatives from state institutions, scientific centers, and companies.

According to the university, the key theme of the meetings was the expansion of cooperation in science, education, and high technologies.

On October 3, the delegation met with D. Ueda, Director of the Higher Education and Social Welfare Group at the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The parties discussed the development of educational programs, professional training projects, and the expansion of academic exchange.

On the same day, a meeting took place with K. Nagai, Deputy Director of the Kawasaki Institute for Industrial Promotion's Nanomedicine Innovation Center. Discussions focused on current research in nanomedicine and the possibilities for organizing internships for Turkmen students specializing in nanotechnologies.

The delegation also held talks with H. Koinuma, Chairman of the Turkmen-Japan Association for Scientific and Technical Cooperation, and representatives of the association. They reviewed new directions for joint projects, the conducting of scientific conferences, and the expansion of exchange programs.

Furthermore, a meeting was held with M. Yamazumi, Head of the Unit at Tohkemy Corporation. The negotiations centered on the prospects of implementing advanced technologies in Turkmenistan and joint projects, including a water purification system stipulated in the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the university and Tohkemy Corporation.
