 Doha Hosts Celebration of Turkmenistan’s 34th Independence Anniversary

On September 30, a festive ceremony was held in Doha at the prestigious Sheraton Grand Doha hotel to mark the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence and the 30th anniversary of the country’s permanent neutrality.

The event was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the State of Qatar and brought together representatives of the Qatari authorities, including Minister of Labor Ali bin Saeed bin Samikh Al-Marri, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, heads of public organizations, leaders of diplomatic missions of foreign states, media representatives, as well as Turkmen students studying at universities in Qatar.

During the ceremony, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Qatar, M. Seyitmammedov, delivered a speech highlighting the country’s achievements over the years of independence, its economic successes, the development of socio-political, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as international projects and the strengthening of foreign policy cooperation.

Special attention was given to the role of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in strengthening domestic and foreign policy, as well as in implementing initiatives dedicated to the Year of International Peace and Trust.

As part of the ceremony, a specially prepared video was shown, showcasing Turkmenistan’s achievements in industry, transport, agriculture, social and cultural sectors, as well as the expansion of international cooperation.

Guests of the event also had the opportunity to experience Turkmenistan’s rich cultural heritage, folk traditions, and national cuisine. Traditional Turkmen dishes were presented, along with demonstrations of the country’s culinary arts and traditions.
