Turkmenistan and Pakistan Discuss Strengthening Trade and Economic Ties and Joint Projects
02.10.2025 | 10:15 |The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan, Atajan Mowlamov, received at the Turkmen Embassy in Islamabad the newly appointed Coordinator for Foreign Relations, Business, and Trade Contacts of the Prime Minister of Pakistan’s Youth Program, Shaheryar Memon.
During the meeting, Mowlamov outlined the main directions of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy strategy, based on the principles of neutrality and mutually beneficial cooperation. The parties discussed possible ways to strengthen trade and economic relations between the two countries.
The Ambassador provided information on the progress of major Turkmen energy initiatives, including the TAPI gas pipeline and the TAP power transmission line, which have strategic significance for energy security and regional integration.
Particular attention was given to the construction of the innovative and environmentally sustainable city of Arkadag in Turkmenistan, which is intended to become a model for “smart” urban development in the region.
A wide range of bilateral issues was also discussed, including trade and economic cooperation, development of energy links, and cultural and educational programs. It was noted that expanding partnerships in these areas opens up prospects for long-term collaboration.
