NASA's Perseverance rover may have found traces of ancient microbes on Mars. To conduct a thorough analysis, the rock needs to be returned to Earth, which is unlikely to happen before the 2030s.

NASA's Perseverance rover has found new signs of possible microbial life on Mars.

The roughly 1-meter by 0.6-meter rock has been named "Cheyawa Falls" and "contains surprising features that may help answer the question of whether Mars once supported microscopic life," NASA said.
