06.09.2025 | 03:05 |President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with Vice President of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) Kazuhiko Amakawa. The talks showed that Japan views Turkmenistan as a promising partner, especially in the field of energy investments.
The banker highly praised Turkmenistan's open investment policy, emphasizing that Japanese business circles are showing great interest in working in the promising Turkmen market. It was noted that the basis for a successful dialogue was regular high-level meetings, including the official visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Japan in April of this year, during which important agreements were reached.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan, with its rich natural resource reserves, aims to diversify its economic potential. The head of state noted that the country has "big plans for the production and processing of natural gas," which opens up new opportunities for cooperation with JBIC.
The parties noted with satisfaction the fruitful partnership that has existed between Turkmenistan and the Japanese bank for many years, which has made it possible to implement a number of large joint projects. At the end of the meeting, it was confirmed that Turkmenistan is ready to consider specific proposals from the Japanese side for further cooperation in new areas.
This visit once again confirmed that Turkmenistan and Japan continue to strengthen their strategic partnership aimed at implementing large-scale national projects.
