Tokyo celebrates 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's Neutrality
26.09.2025 | 04:35 |An official reception, organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Japan, was held in Tokyo to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality and Independence Day. The event brought together representatives of the Japanese government, parliamentarians, diplomats, and business circles from both countries.
Representing Japan, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Hisayuki Fujii delivered a speech. He congratulated Turkmenistan on the 30th anniversary of its neutrality and expressed hope for the successful holding of the International Forum scheduled for December in Ashgabat. Mr. Fujii also noted the recent visit of Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Japan and expressed his commitment to further developing bilateral relations.
Japanese Justice Minister Keisuke Suzuki and Chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Toshiaki Endo also spoke at the event. Along with Turkmen Ambassador Atadurdy Bayramov, they noted Turkmenistan's successes in trade, economic, and cultural spheres and emphasized the importance of Turkmen-Japanese relations.
The reception also featured an exhibition of Turkmen books and cultural treasures, and guests were treated to national cuisine.
