During his visit to the United States, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with King Mswati III of Eswatini. The talks took place on the sidelines of the 80th anniversary session of the UN General Assembly and marked an important step in strengthening relations between the two countries.

At the outset of the meeting, the King expressed gratitude to Turkmenistan for the excellent organization of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, which took place in August in the Avaza National Tourist Zone. Mswati III particularly noted Turkmenistan's active role in ensuring the sustainable development of these countries and the effective coordination of efforts at the global level.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov thanked him for the warm words and emphasized that Turkmenistan, relying on its neutral status, strives to develop friendly ties with all countries, placing particular emphasis on cooperation with African states.

During the meeting, the importance of the recent signing of the Protocol on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Eswatini was noted. The parties agreed that this event creates a solid foundation for the development of long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation in trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian, and other areas, and will also contribute to the rapprochement between the two peoples.
