Turkmen Students Lead the Number of Foreigners in Uzbekistan’s Universities

From January to July 2025, a total of 10.7 thousand foreign citizens arrived in Uzbekistan for the purpose of education.
According to the National Statistics Committee, the largest number of students came from Turkmenistan — 3,197 people. They are followed by India with 2,846 students and Tajikistan with 1,246.
The top ten also includes China (532 people), South Korea (428), Pakistan (377), Kyrgyzstan (286), USA (254), Afghanistan (193), and Turkey (181). Citizens of other countries accounted for another 1,161 people.
