 The President of Turkmenistan and the Crown Prince of Kuwait outlined areas of partnership

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah congratulated the President of Turkmenistan on the successful holding of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries in Avaza and conveyed greetings to National Leader of the Turkmen People Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The head of Turkmenistan emphasized that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to strengthening an equal dialogue with Kuwait. The parties noted that the two countries share similar positions on global peace and security, creating a solid foundation for a constructive partnership.

The parties noted the significant opportunities for expanding interstate ties in the economy, trade, and culture. Particular attention was paid to promising areas of cooperation in the fuel and energy sector and the transport and communications industry.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan's advantageous geographic location and rich natural resources allow for the implementation of major international projects. He noted that the countries can cooperate in creating transport and transit corridors, as well as in implementing large-scale projects such as the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline.

The leaders also discussed the possibility of increasing mutual exports and imports, as well as strengthening trade turnover.

The President of Turkmenistan thanked Kuwait for its support of his country's international initiatives and assured that Turkmenistan will continue to support Kuwait's effective initiatives.

Following the meeting, the head of state invited Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah to participate in the International Forum to be held on December 12 in Ashgabat. This event will be dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, which coincides with the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality.

The Crown Prince of Kuwait expressed gratitude for the invitation and noted the importance of Turkmenistan's foreign policy, based on positive neutrality, for strengthening peace and stability throughout the world.
