Google launches Mixboard: a new AI service for visualizing ideas

Google has introduced Mixboard — an experimental project based on artificial intelligence, positioned as “a new way to visualize ideas.” The service offers an “open canvas” and generative AI to help develop concepts of almost anything: from interior design to new products.

You can create a project in Mixboard using ready-made board templates or text prompts powered by Google’s Gemini 2.5 Flash AI model.

Users can easily add their own images or generate visuals from descriptions. For example, you can enter a prompt like “show me cups, bowls, and plates in Memphis style” or “plan an autumn party in my living room.” The service resembles an interactive version of Pinterest, but with active AI support.

Mixboard allows not only creating but also editing boards through natural language prompts. Users can also reference already uploaded images so that AI can use them as a base for generating new visuals.

This opens up wide possibilities for discovering home decor ideas, planning events, or simply engaging in creative experimentation and making fun images.
