Customs Services of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan Verified Foreign Trade Statistics
29.09.2025 | 13:25 |A working meeting between specialists from the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan took place in Urgench. The visit, led by the Head of the Customs Statistics Department of Turkmenistan, aimed to conduct a comparative analysis of foreign trade data between the two countries.
The event was organized under the framework of the Protocol on the Exchange of Information on the Movement of Goods in Mutual Trade, which was signed by the customs services of the two states in Tashkent on July 14, 2022. Comparing the data on the import and export of various commodity groups allowed the specialists to identify and assess possible discrepancies in the accounting records.
The work resulted in the formation of mutually agreed upon and reliable sets of statistical data regarding trade between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. This mechanism for exchanging and verifying data enhances the transparency of foreign trade operations, prevents the illegal movement of goods, and ensures the accuracy of macroeconomic indicators, thereby facilitating decision-making for the development of bilateral economic cooperation.
The cooperation between the customs authorities directly strengthens the economic ties between the two countries and increases the efficiency of trade flows in the region.
