Heads of state congratulate Turkmenistan on Independence Day
27.09.2025 | 23:45 |On the occasion of the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received numerous congratulatory messages from heads of state and monarchs from around the world. A review of the messages confirms Turkmenistan's high international status, its key role in Central Asia, and its commitment to the principles of global stability.
A number of messages contain direct statements of support for Turkmenistan's sovereignty and international initiatives.
For example, President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić expressed his gratitude for Turkmenistan's principled support in preserving the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia, which demonstrates your country's commitment to respecting the fundamental principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier emphasized the strategic importance of cooperation: "Current global challenges require solutions exclusively through constructive international cooperation. I assure you of Germany’s continued readiness to support Turkmenistan in defending the international order and universally recognized values”.
The country's peacekeeping role was particularly noted. President of the Slovak Republic Peter Pellegrini stated: "The thirtieth anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality and the declaration, on your country's initiative, of the International Year of Peace and Trust are important milestones in the history of Turkmenistan". He also expressed hope for a quick meeting at the International Peace Forum in Ashgabat.
Messages from royal houses and partner countries focused on further strengthening specific areas of cooperation and shared global challenges. King Charles III of the United Kingdom and his wife emphasized the environmental agenda: "I firmly believe that the joint efforts of both countries will have a positive impact on resolving global environmental problems and climate change issues affecting all of humanity".
President of the Republic of Korea Lee Jae-myung expressed hope that "trust, friendly relations, and cooperation... will continue to strengthen, and the friendship between our peoples will grow through active exchanges".
Similar wishes for expanded cooperation in the economic and cultural spheres were received from the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Paul, and the King of Morocco, Mohammed VI.
The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, noted that this significant day is "a symbol of the nation's pride, the enduring sovereignty, and the rapid progress of Turkmenistan".
On behalf of the Arab states and Palestine, congratulations were received from the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and from the President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, who expressed "deep appreciation for Turkmenistan's comprehensive efforts in the interests of both countries".
Heartfelt wishes for peace, prosperity and further strengthening of bilateral ties were also sent to the President of Turkmenistan by: King Philippe of the Belgians, President of the Republic of the Philippines Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr, President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel Bermudez, President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania Mohamed Ould Sheikh Al Ghazwani, and President of the Republic of South Africa Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa.
