Turkmen Cinema Showcased at the “KURULTAI” Festival in Romania
06.09.2025 | 12:12 |From September 5 to 7, 2025, the 10th International Festival of Authentic Turkic and Tatar Culture “KURULTAI” was held in the city of Tekirghiol, Romania. The event took place under the patronage of the National Commission of Romania for UNESCO, with the support of the country’s Ministry of Culture.
This year, Turkmenistan also took part in the festival, presenting films that reflect the rich cultural heritage and contemporary trends of national cinema. The program included the film “Red Kurte” directed by Sakhysalyh Bayramov and “The Red Apple” directed by Hekim Alovov, which is based on a lyrical legend from the book of the National Leader of the Turkmen people. The latter film conveys national traditions and values that praise the honesty and diligence of the Turkmen nation.
The screenings of Turkmen films became part of the festival’s rich program, which also featured artistic performances, exhibitions, master classes, and handicrafts.
The solemn opening of “KURULTAI” took place at the Jean Constantin Summer Theater in Tekirghiol. The ceremony was attended by representatives of various countries, diplomats, officials, and figures of culture and art.
