Cooperation documents were signed during Turkmen delegation’s visit to China
03.09.2025 | 00:45 |During the visit of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the People's Republic of China, bilateral meetings of members of the Turkmen delegation with Chinese colleagues were held. During the talks, key areas of partnership were discussed in detail, and a number of documents were signed to strengthen cooperation in various areas.
The meetings covered a wide range of topics - from intellectual property issues to the development of interstate relations in the field of energy and transport.
Culture, science and media: New horizons for cooperation
The parties paid special attention to intellectual property, exchanging experience in the field of its protection and legal regulation. This dialogue is aimed at creating a more reliable legal framework for innovation and copyright.
As part of the development of academic ties, ways to strengthen cooperation in education and science were discussed, as well as the possibility of implementing joint scientific and educational projects, student and teacher exchanges, and joint scientific conferences.
The cultural dialogue between Turkmenistan and China was reflected in the discussion of museum affairs. Representatives of the two countries shared their experience in preserving and popularizing cultural heritage, and also agreed to hold joint exhibitions and other events.
Interaction in the field of media was also considered. Mutual interest was expressed in developing information exchange, implementing joint media projects and improving the professional level of journalists.
Energy and transport: strengthening infrastructure ties
In the transport sector, the parties discussed issues related to the expansion of infrastructure projects, as well as the improvement of logistics and the development of roads and railways.
The energy sector was named one of the key areas. Turkmen and Chinese partners exchanged views on the modernization of specialized infrastructure and the use of sustainable energy production technologies. It was noted that the development of this sector will not only ensure energy security in the region, but will also open up new opportunities for mutual investment.
Signed documents
Following the negotiations, four Memorandums of Understanding, which formalize the agreements and create the basis for further cooperation were signed:
— between the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Lanzhou University.
— between the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan and the National Intellectual Property Administration of China.
— between the Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan and the National Museum of China.
— between the electronic newspaper "Turkmenistan: Golden Age" and the publication "Renmin Ribao".
