 The President of Turkmenistan Held a Series of Meetings with the Leaders of African, Asian and Caucasian Countries

On the sidelines of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a new series of meetings with the heads of foreign delegations. These talks emphasized that the large-scale event in Avaza has become an effective platform for deepening bilateral ties. All meetings expressed confidence that the decisions taken at the Conference, including the Avaza Action Program, will make a significant contribution to the economic development of these countries.

A promising vector is cooperation with Africa

During the talks with the delegations of African countries, the President of Turkmenistan outlined the development of friendly and mutually beneficial relations with the states of the continent as one of the key priorities of foreign policy.

At a meeting with Vice President of the Republic of Gambia Mohammed Jallow, the parties noted the great potential for expanding cooperation in the fields of energy, chemical industry, agriculture, healthcare and education. Particular attention was paid to humanitarian ties and Gambia's interest in cooperation with Turkmenistan in the field of education.

In a conversation with Vice President of the Republic of Malawi Michael Biswick Usi, it was expressed confidence that his visit would be an important stage in interstate relations. Turkmenistan's readiness to use all opportunities to establish contacts in energy, agriculture, healthcare, education and scientific research was noted.

A meeting with Prime Minister of the Republic of Mali Abdoulaye Maiga revealed common opportunities for implementing joint projects in such areas as introducing innovations in agriculture, effective water resources management, education and training.

The talks with President of the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe Carlos Manuel Vila Nova were aimed at active cooperation not only on a bilateral basis, but also within the UN. Noting the tourist potential of the island state, President Berdimuhamedov expressed his readiness to provide all possible support if there are specific proposals for establishing cooperation.

At a meeting with Prime Minister of the Republic of Uganda Robina Nabbanja, it was expressed interest in establishing cooperation in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic and energy spheres. The Turkmen side confirmed its readiness to support specific proposals from Uganda to establish mutually beneficial cooperation in the context of familiarization with Turkmenistan's achievements in the gas-chemical and other industries.

Expanding the horizons of partnership in the Caucasus and Asia

During the meeting with President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan, it was noted the progressive development of bilateral cooperation, which reached a qualitatively new level. Particular attention was paid to trade and economic cooperation, as well as strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties in the fields of science, education, culture and art.

During the conversation with Prime Minister of Nepal Sharma Oli, emphasis was placed on the enormous potential for increasing cooperation in the economy, energy, agriculture, healthcare and research. Turkmenistan's readiness to support constructive initiatives to deepen cooperation was confirmed.

All participants of the meetings expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for the high organizational level of the Conference and confirmed that it will make a significant contribution to strengthening cooperation between landlocked developing countries.
