Turkmenistan to implement the eleventh revision of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems
14.12.2024 | 09:55 |A delegation from Turkmenistan participated in a training course on the application of the eleventh revision of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD-11).
The event, held in Almaty and supported by the European Union. It is aimed to assist countries in transitioning from the tenth (ICD-10) to the eleventh (ICD-11) revision of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems. This transition allows healthcare systems to align with the latest medical advancements.
The course facilitated the exchange of best practices to strengthen data quality across the region through the Central Asian Information Network on Health (CARINFONET). This network sets a high standard for other sub-regional health information networks and promotes cooperation within and between Central Asian countries to obtain timely, objective, and accurate statistics.
The International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD) reflects the human condition from birth to death, providing a coding system for every injury or disease experienced throughout life and every cause of death.
