OpenAI has introduced a proprietary search engine called ChatGPT Search
17.12.2024 | 12:15 |The American company OpenAI has opened up Internet search via the ChatGPT chatbot with artificial intelligence to all users.
This is a direct challenge to Google, which holds the leadership in the global search engine market.
ChatGPT Search will be available to any user logged into their account in the chatbot's mobile apps or the web version of the service. Previously, web searches through ChatGPT were only available to paid subscribers.
By using ChatGPT Search, users will be able to receive quick and relevant answers with links to relevant web sources.
A query to ChatGPT is entered as usual. The chatbot will decide whether to search for something on the Internet. The chatbot will also be able to refine the search terms or prepare a more detailed summary of the results.
In addition, ChatGPT Search will be able to be made the default search engine for its web browser.
The presentation of the search engine is part of a 12-day marathon of announcements from OpenAI. Earlier, an artificial intelligence-assisted video creation tool called Sora was presented to the public.
