An event dedicated to Hafez Shirazi was held at the Cultural Center of the Embassy of Iran in Ashgabat
17.10.2025 | 14:25 |Recently, at the initiative of the Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Turkmenistan, an event was held in honor of the great Persian poet Hafez Shirazi.
During the event, speeches were delivered by the Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Ashgabat, Abdolreza Abbasi, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Turkmenistan, Ali Mojtaba Rouzbehani, and the Persian language and literature teacher at the Embassy’s school, Mr. Mohammadi.
In his address, Ambassador Ali Mojtaba Rouzbehani stated: “There is no doubt that organizing such solemn events has become possible thanks to the attention that the leaders and Presidents of both countries pay to the development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation. In this regard, I would like to express my gratitude to the President of my country, Dr. Pezeshkian, to the Honorable President of Turkmenistan, Mr. Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Mr. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. I wish them good health and success in their humanitarian and cultural endeavors.”
In addition, as part of the event, students studying the Persian language recited poems by Hafez in Persian and Turkmen. Among the students, engaging and exciting contests were held — for the best knowledge of vocabulary, reading of couplets, and recitation of ghazals from memory.
At the conclusion of the event, the results of the competitions were announced, and gifts were presented to the participants.
