Oriented on making people closer

On June 29, representatives of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan took part in a meeting of Special Representative of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly on Central Asia Farah Karimi with parliamentary delegations of the Central Asian states.

The Turkmen parliamentarians are making a working visit to participate in the 32nd annual meeting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, which is held from June 29 to July 3, 2025 in the city of Porto, Republic of Portugal, and the event "International Year of Peace and Trust: the Role of Dialogue and the Principles of Neutrality in Achieving Peace and Security", which is held within its framework by the Mejlis of Turkmenistan jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, its participants exchanged views on the activities carried out in their countries to combat climate change. The accumulated experience of strengthening the legislative and legal framework of efforts aimed at ensuring environmental well-being, environmental protection, careful attitude to nature, support of state policy pursued in this direction, through parliamentary diplomacy was presented.

As reported on the official website of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, in the afternoon, Turkmen parliamentarians took part in the opening ceremony and the general annual meeting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. The participants of the meeting discussed positive solutions to issues currently on the agenda of the region and the world, and the upcoming tasks of parliamentarians in their implementation.
