 Turkmen wrestlers achieve success at Asian U23 Championship in Vung Tau

Turkmen wrestlers have performed commendably at the Asian U23 Wrestling Championship currently taking place in Vung Tau, Vietnam. Athletes from Turkmenistan secured four medals: one silver and three bronze, showcasing notable progress and competitiveness on the international stage.

In the freestyle wrestling category, Turkmen athletes earned one silver and two bronze medals. Alp Arslan Begendjov claimed the silver medal in the up to 79 kg weight class. The bronze medals were awarded to Vatan Annaorazov (up to 74 kg) and Soltan Sanjar Begendjov (up to 86 kg), underscoring the strength of Turkmenistan's freestyle wrestling program.

In the Greco-Roman wrestling discipline, Didar Orazberdyev secured a bronze medal in the up to 72 kg weight class. This achievement highlights the versatile development of wrestling in Turkmenistan and the successful training of athletes across different styles.

The championship in Vung Tau is scheduled to conclude on June 26. The tournament will also feature competitions for athletes under 17 years old, where Turkmen juniors will continue to vie for medals, representing their country at an international level.
