Turkmenistan – Japan: Student exchange program continues successfully
07.10.2025 | 19:05 |As part of the fruitful cooperation between the International University for the Humanities and Development (IUHD) and the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (TUFS) of Japan, two IUHD students — Novruz Allanazarov and Aybolek Atayeva — have been sent to Japan to study at TUFS for one academic year within the framework of the student exchange program.
This program represents one of the significant achievements of IUHD’s international partnership policy and serves as an important bridge for strengthening friendship, mutual understanding, and cultural dialogue between the peoples of Turkmenistan and Japan. It provides valuable opportunities for Turkmen students to gain international academic experience, enhance their knowledge, and contribute to the promotion of Turkmenistan’s rich culture and modern educational achievements abroad.
Since the launch of the exchange program, a total of 11 IUHD students have studied at TUFS, while one student from Japan has been hosted by IUHD. These exchanges have contributed to expanding educational cooperation, enriching intercultural understanding, and supporting the university’s efforts to integrate into the global academic community.
An important stage in the development of IUHD–TUFS relations was the establishment of the Global Japan Office at IUHD in 2016, which has played a key role in promoting Japanese language education and fostering academic collaboration. The Office continues to support the teaching of the Japanese language at the university and to strengthen educational and cultural connections between the two friendly nations.
