Presidents of Turkmenistan and Iran held a telephone conversation
06.06.2025 | 00:25 |On June 5, a telephone conversation took place between President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian. The conversation, initiated by the Iranian side, took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
The heads of the two neighboring states exchanged heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, addressing best wishes to each other and the fraternal peoples.
President Masoud Pezeshkian stressed the great importance that Iran attaches to strengthening friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Turkmenistan. He also conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, from whom, in turn, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov conveyed reciprocal congratulations on Eid al-Adha.
During the conversation, the Iranian President highly appreciated Turkmenistan's peacekeeping foreign policy, especially noting the importance of the UN General Assembly declaring 2025 the International Year of Peace and Trust on the initiative of Ashgabat, the Turkmen State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company reported.
The interlocutors emphasized that relations between the two peoples, united by centuries-old history and common culture, are developing dynamically. They noted the consistent expansion of trade, economic and cultural ties.
At the end of the conversation, the Presidents confirmed their mutual readiness to continue working to strengthen the ties of friendship and brotherhood, as well as to expand the mutually beneficial partnership between Turkmenistan and Iran in the long term.
