Turkmenistan Celebrates 80th Anniversary of the United Nations: Building Our Future Together
20.10.2025 | 17:25 |Turkmenistan has launched celebrations dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations — a milestone of global cooperation, peace, and sustainable development.
The central event of the program will be a conference held on October 23 at 2:00 p.m. at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. During the event, a new Framework Cooperation Document on sustainable development between the Government of Turkmenistan and the UN for 2026–2030 will be signed. The document will outline joint priorities in the fields of ecology, inclusion, economic growth, and social sustainability.
On October 24 at 6:00 p.m., the historical photo exhibition “80 Years of the United Nations” will open in the foyer of the Mukamlar Palace in Ashgabat, showcasing key moments in UN history and examples of its long-term partnership with Turkmenistan.
Later that evening, at 7:00 p.m., the symphonic concert “Music of Peace and Hope” will take place at Mukamlar Palace, featuring the State Symphony Orchestra, the State Choir, and the Children’s Choir of Turkmenistan.
On October 25 at 11:00 a.m., the celebrations will continue with sporting events — UN80 Marathons in all regional centers of the country: Ahal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap, and Mary. Representatives of UN agencies and local communities will join athletes on the running tracks to promote the values of peace, unity, and healthy lifestyles.
Additionally, on October 24, the UN80 logo will be projected in Ashgabat and regional centers as a symbol of shared commitment to building a better future.
These events are part of the global UN80 anniversary celebrations, honoring eight decades of international partnership and reaffirming the world community’s commitment to peace, inclusion, and sustainable development.
