 Transport, Green Economy – What the Head of Turkmenistan and the Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Discussed

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Deputy Prime Minister and Chief of Staff of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan Galymzhan Koishybayev on Friday, October 17, who arrived in Ashgabat at the head of a delegation.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that regular high-level contacts are a key factor determining the comprehensive development of interstate cooperation.

Trade and economic partnerships occupy a special place on the agenda. Specific, most promising areas of cooperation were identified. These include strengthening cooperation in transport and logistics, including the development of international corridors, with a particular emphasis on the North-South corridor. Particular importance is attached to expanding cooperation in digitalization, infrastructure improvement, and innovation, as well as in the green economy and environmental protection, as reported in a news broadcast by the Turkmen State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.


That same day, in Ashgabat, Rashid Meredov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, met with Galymzhan Koishybayev.

The diplomats discussed preparations for events scheduled for this year, including the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kazakh Commission on Economic, Scientific, Technical, and Cultural Cooperation. During the talks, the cooperation of the two countries in regional and international formats was highly praised.
