The Avaza Political Declaration was Adopted as a UN General Assembly Resolution

At a meeting of the Government of Turkmenistan on Friday, October 17, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov reported a major success for Turkmen diplomacy at the United Nations.

As noted, the Avaza Political Declaration, adopted following the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC-3), has received the highest level of international recognition.

On October 14, 2025, at the 18th plenary meeting of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, USA, the Resolution "Avaza Political Declaration" was unanimously adopted.

This step confirms the enormous political significance of the LLDC3 Forum, which was successfully held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone in August of this year. Delegations from 104 countries and 46 international organizations participated in the forum in Avaza.

The declaration, which has now become a UN resolution, enshrined decisions on a wide range of issues related to the development of vulnerable countries, including the development of science, education, and innovation, the creation of sustainable infrastructure and international trade, the fight against climate change, and the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The adoption of the resolution is an important contribution by Turkmenistan to strengthening international cooperation and advancing the sustainable development agenda in the global community.
