Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the People's Republic of China Parakhat Durdyev met with Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Zhang Shaogang. The key topic of the talks was the invitation of Turkmenistan to participate in the Baktu Forum, which will be held on September 25, 2025, at the Central Asian Cultural Exchange Center in Tacheng, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (XUAR).

The forum is jointly organized by the Tacheng County People's Government and the China International Council for the Promotion of Multinational Corporations. During the meeting, the parties emphasized the special importance of the participation of Central Asian countries, including Turkmenistan, in regional integration initiatives aimed at sustainable development. The Ambassador of Turkmenistan expressed gratitude for the invitation and acquainted the Chinese side with the upcoming international events with the participation of Turkmenistan. The meeting was held in a constructive atmosphere, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in the further development of relations and practical cooperation.

What is the Baktu Forum?

The Baktu Forum is an international platform that focuses on developing cross-border cooperation, economic exchanges and cultural ties between China and Central Asian countries. Named after the Baktu border crossing (one of the important points on the Chinese-Kazakh border in Xinjiang), this forum is a symbol of openness and aspiration to strengthen good-neighborly relations within the framework of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative.

The main goal of the Baktu Forum is to promote regional integration, increase trade and investment cooperation, as well as develop cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
