The President Approved the Next Steps to Develop the Electronic Government System

At a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on Friday, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved the proposal submitted by Deputy Prime Minister Mammetkhan Chakyev regarding the further development of the Electronic Government system. The initiative is aimed at increasing the efficiency of public administration through the digitalization of document flow and the expansion of the range of electronic services.

According to the report of the Deputy Prime Minister, who oversees the transport and communications complex, the country continues to work on the introduction of new digital solutions in various sectors of the economy. The actions of government agencies are coordinated through a single electronic information system, and systematic legal and organizational adjustment of the digital environment is being implemented.

The process of implementing the Electronic Government system in Turkmenistan received a legal basis with the adoption of a number of key legislative acts.

In particular, the Law of Turkmenistan "On Electronic Document, Electronic Document Management and Digital Services" (put into effect in 2015) regulates the legal force of electronic documents and their use in relations between citizens, organizations and the state. The Law "On Electronic Government", which entered into force in 2019, defines the principles of organizing and developing digital interactions between government bodies, citizens and businesses.

Particular attention is paid to the unification of digital services and the legal support of these processes. Work in this direction is carried out in close conjunction with the goals set in the Digital Economy Program of Turkmenistan for 2021-2025, which is aimed at forming a modern high-tech society.

The President's approval of this initiative demonstrates Turkmenistan's desire to keep pace with global digital trends and create a sustainable, transparent and effective model of public administration.
