On the Occasion of the Year of Peace and Trust, the President of Turkmenistan Pardoned 247 convicts
25.07.2025 | 22:28 |During a government meeting held on Friday, July 25, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree pardoning 247 citizens convicted of crimes committed, but who sincerely repented and expressed regret for their actions. This humane action is being held under the sign of the International Year of Peace and Trust.
As the head of state noted, the decision to pardon was made based on proposals from the Commission on Citizenship and Pardons under the President of Turkmenistan, which carefully reviewed the relevant materials.
The President instructed the Chairman of the Commission, in close cooperation with the heads of law enforcement agencies, to organize work on the speedy release of pardoned persons from places of detention and their return to their families.
Addressing the pardoned citizens, the President of Turkmenistan wished them to work conscientiously, sincerely serve the Motherland and build a life based on honest and noble work.
…The humanistic policy of Turkmenistan is once again reflected in the implementation of the institution of pardon, which is an integral part of the national legal system and a recognized mechanism of international law.
