The modern challenges and solutions in architecture, ecology, and energy were discussed in Ashgabat
21.05.2025 | 14:00 |Today, May 21st, at the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction, the international scientific and practical conference "Ashgabat — Pearl of National Architecture, Center of Science and Education" was held in a digital format, timed to coincide with Ashgabat City Day.
The aim of the conference was to introduce innovations in the fields of science and education, support talented youth, train scientific personnel, and develop the intellectual potential of students.
The forum was attended by professors, master's students, postgraduate students, and doctoral candidates from universities in Turkmenistan and foreign countries, as well as specialists from research institutions and relevant companies.
Before the conference began, participants viewed an exhibition of research and design works by the institute's faculty and students, as well as works of applied art. Project proposals for the construction of new buildings for the educational institution generated particular interest. Among these was a project for a new institute building, the opening of which is scheduled for September 2026. Some of the developed projects have already been implemented in practice.
The exhibition clearly reflected the results of the successful urban development policy consistently implemented under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan. The architectural solutions presented by young specialists offered innovative approaches to the development of urban and rural environments.
During the plenary session of the conference, foreign scientists spoke about the traditions and features of the architectural art of their countries, innovations in modern urban planning, and new technological developments used in the construction industry.
Participants discussed issues related to the formation of a comfortable urban environment that harmonizes with natural beauty, improving the effectiveness of architectural and construction education, and training qualified specialists. These topics aroused lively interest and became the subject of substantive discussion.
The main objectives of the conference were aimed at implementing the strategic programs of the President of Turkmenistan and included strengthening the interrelation between science, education, and production, expanding scientific exchange among professors, postgraduate students, and students, identifying and supporting gifted youth, introducing modern teaching methods, and improving the quality of education. Issues related to the training of specialists capable of solving current scientific and applied problems in the fields of architecture, construction, ecology, chemical technologies, energy, and logistics were also raised.
During the conference, reports were presented in the following areas: architecture, design, urban planning, and digital technologies; construction machinery and technological solutions in industrial and residential construction; transport infrastructure; seismic resistance; environmental safety; energy, including alternative energy sources; construction economics, management strategies, and logistics; inorganic chemical technology of building materials. Following the event, an electronic collection of abstracts was prepared, including materials from the presentations of scientists, specialists, and students.
The past international exhibition and conference served as a platform for professional dialogue, exchange of experience, and presentation of technological solutions contributing to the development of Turkmenistan's construction industry.
