Growth in trade, textiles and business: dynamics in the real sector of Turkmenistan's economy
08.05.2025 | 23:55 |In January-April 2025, Turkmenistan saw growth in key indicators in the areas of trade, industry and entrepreneurship. This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Nokerguly Atagulyev at a government meeting.
According to the data presented, trade turnover through the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations increased by 23.6% compared to the same period last year, and production by 0.6%.
The textile industry is showing significant growth rates. The production of cotton yarn increased by 38.2%, cotton fabric by 48%, leather goods by 31%, and the overall growth rate for the Ministry of Textile Industry reached 112.8%.
Stable growth has also been recorded in the private sector. According to the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, over the first four months of this year, the volume of agricultural and food production increased by 12.5%, and industrial production by 4.5%.
The announced indicators testify to the dynamic development of domestic production, strengthening of export potential and growing business activity in the country's economy.
