Oriented on making people closer

On January 31, a meeting took place at the House of Friendship, the building of the Belarusian Society of Friendship and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Minsk, Nazarguly Shagulyev, and the Chairperson of the Society, Nina Ivanova.

The interlocutors discussed the organization of joint events dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust and the 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality Turkmenistan.

The Ambassador emphasized the motto for 2025, which reflects the connection between the principle of "Peace through Development" and the global initiative "Dialogue – Guarantee of Peace," proposed by the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Just as independence and neutrality are considered the wings of Turkmen statehood, peace and trust are the foundational principles of global stability, as outlined in the UN General Assembly Resolution "2025 – International Year of Peace and Trust." This resolution was unanimously adopted at the initiative of Turkmenistan, with 86 states as co-authors.

The main goal of the Resolution is to mobilize the international community's efforts to strengthen peace and trust between states through political dialogue, based on the wide use of preventive diplomacy mechanisms.

At the end of the meeting, Turkmen handmade products symbolizing the cultural values of our country were presented as a gift to the leader of the House of Friendship.
