Iran, Turkmenistan set up economic consortium to boost trade

The Iran-Turkmenistan Joint Chamber of Commerce has announced the establishment of a special economic consortium aimed at expanding exports and trade exchanges between the two countries with the support of their joint chambers of commerce.

Ramezan Bahrami, head of the Iran-Turkmenistan Joint Chamber of Commerce, said on Saturday that the establishment of the consortium has received broad support from economic operators and provides a valuable opportunity to optimize trade, promote investment and remove trade barriers between the two countries, IRNA reported.

Bahrami highlighted the consortium’s role in promoting sustainable trade relations, describing it as an effective tool to increase exports, attract investment and facilitate economic interactions. He noted that the initiative creates a structured platform for Iranian businesses to strategically enter the Turkmen market and opens up new opportunities for bilateral cooperation.

He added that the consortium, established with the participation of the private sector under the Iran-Turkmenistan Joint Chamber of Commerce, is expected to expand trade volumes, reduce business costs and strengthen regional economic ties. Bahrami welcomed the broad participation of Iranian companies in the initiative, saying their participation will pave the way for sustainable trade growth and facilitate access to Central Asian markets.
