Digital Business Transformation in Turkmenistan: how EDI facilitates document management
23.01.2025 | 16:30 |Today, January 23rd, the "Ish Nokady" conference hall of the "Arkach" shopping and entertainment center hosted a seminar on "Electronic Commercial Document Management (EDI): Effects for Business and Regulators of Turkmenistan". The event gathered approximately 70 participants, including business representatives and journalists. Participation was free of charge.
EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) is a technology that allows companies to exchange documents and information in a digital format, which significantly accelerates ordering, delivery, and accounting processes. In the context of the rapid transition to digitalization, the implementation of such systems is becoming critical for effective business operations.
The seminar featured presentations by Belarusian experts who shared their experience in implementing EDI in practice. The event was organized by the 1C Certified Training Center "Belli Tilsimat", the company "Akylly Tilsimat", and the Ashgabat branch of LLC "SOFTCLUB".
The General Director of "Belli Tilsimat", Farrukh Tagiev, opened the meeting with a welcoming address, emphasizing the importance of electronic document management for improving service quality in the context of digital transformation. Particular attention at the seminar was paid to the application of international standards for the identification of goods and participants in trade processes. Transparency, traceability of goods, labeling, as well as the integration of accounting systems (ERP) and EDI — all these aspects were discussed with an emphasis on their impact on the development of electronic data exchange and the simplification of processes in supply chains.
The topic of EDI integration into the work of the country's regulators was also addressed during the seminar. It is expected that the implementation of such technologies will help improve the efficiency of government agencies, accelerating certification processes and simplifying interaction with businesses.
The seminar became an important step in establishing partnerships between Turkmen and Belarusian colleagues, with the aim of exchanging advanced knowledge and collaborating on the development of digital infrastructure in Turkmenistan. The prospects of using EDI to improve commercial processes, both in the private and public sectors, became a key focus of this seminar.
