Ten ministries and sectoral agencies connected to the Interdepartmental electronic data exchange system
29.07.2025 | 13:02 |In accordance with the directives of the esteemed President concerning the development of the digital economy within our nation, and with the aim of creating national software products and increasing the volume of digital services, specialists from the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan are developing projects that are being progressively implemented.
Among the primary objectives of the State Program for the Development of the Digital Economy in Turkmenistan is the establishment of "e-Government" as an information system for the provision of public services.
In this regard, a project agreement, "On Assistance in the Implementation of the Interdepartmental Electronic Data Exchange System in Turkmenistan," was signed between the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan and the United Nations Development Programme.
This document stipulates the creation and implementation of an Interdepartmental Electronic Data Exchange System, the initial connection of ten sectoral agencies to this system, the training of specialists in this field, the study of international experience, and the organization of relevant work.
To ensure secure data exchange, security servers have been installed. In accordance with established procedures and agreements, ten ministries and sectoral agencies have been connected to the Interdepartmental Electronic Data Exchange System.
Furthermore, within the scope of the ongoing work, twelve electronic services provided by state bodies have been integrated into the Interdepartmental Electronic Data Exchange System via the "X-Road" platform.
The connection of the aforementioned state institutions and electronic services to the Interdepartmental Electronic Data Exchange System represents a significant step in the establishment of the "e-Government" system in our country. This creates opportunities for the prompt provision of services to citizens and state bodies, cost savings, enhanced accessibility, and improved information security.
As part of the project's implementation, phased courses were organized for 75 specialists from the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan and the sectors involved in the project. These courses covered the use and security of the "X-Road" platform, network technologies (internet, local area networks) based on "Cisco CCNA" and "Cisco CCNP" programs, as well as programming languages and software such as "Linux," "Java," and "Python," with the issuance of corresponding certificates.
The project's implementation will create extensive opportunities for simplifying interdepartmental data exchange, ensuring 24/7 access to information, and increasing the number of electronic services available in the country.
This, in turn, will contribute to the expansion of electronic document management, the reduction of administrative costs through system automation, resource savings, the improvement of the "e-Government" system, and the systematization of electronic services.
