Oriented on making people closer

The valuable ideas of the titan of world literature and a prominent thinker of our people, Magtymguly Fragi, have forever been enshrined in the treasury of universal civilization, which explains the enormous support from leading international organizations and members of the world community for large-scale studies of the poet's life and work, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov said, speaking at the international conference "The Interconnection of Times and Generations - the Basis of Peace and Development".

The head of state noted the special significance of the current event dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi, and recalled that the collection of the poet's manuscripts is included in the UNESCO Memory of the World Program, and his anniversary is included in the List of memorable dates celebrated jointly with UNESCO. At the same time, the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) declared 2024 the Year of the great poet and thinker of the Turkic world – Magtymguly Fragi.

In Turkmenistan, 2024 has been declared the year of the "The Fount of the Mind of Magtymguly Fragi". Based on this, National Leader of the Turkmen people, the head of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov put forward an initiative to hold a grand celebration of the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi in order to widely popularize the poet's works.

In the foothills of Kopetdag - a picturesque corner of Ashgabat - a monumental sculpture of Magtymguly Fragi was erected, and a cultural and park complex of the same name was built there, where monuments to foreign poets and prose writers were also erected, which is a triumphant expression of friendship and brotherhood in a sovereign state, which the classic dreamed of.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that monuments to Magtymguly Fragi have also been erected in a number of foreign countries, emphasizing that such a noble cause strengthens the bridges of friendship and brotherhood between peoples.

Magtymguly's great and rich heritage predetermined the foundation of Turkmenistan's foreign policy: his unshakable ideas about peace, justice, humanism, friendship and brotherhood, respect for everyone and everyone have a significant impact on interactions with other states, the head of state continued.

The President noted that the poet and thinker, who played an invaluable role in shaping the national character, comprehended the world, visited many countries, and these travels significantly influenced the expansion of his worldview.

Magtymguly's poetry is a patriotic anthem: he loved his people and homeland with all his heart, called for their protection and appreciation. Being an outstanding thinker, he hoped for the well-being of humanity and showed the right path to it, Serdar Berdimuhamedov said.

And today the poet’s poems contribute to the education of the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism and high morality, helping to raise worthy people who will direct their knowledge and professional skills for the benefit of the state, society and humanity.

The legacy of Magtymguly Fragi is our great asset, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized, stating that, being committed to his instructions, we will continue to strengthen the unity and solidarity of the people, the sovereignty of the state, and expand the bonds of friendship and brotherhood, good neighborliness and mutually beneficial cooperation with other countries.

We are always ready to contribute to the interests of peace and balanced development of mankind, Serdar Berdimuhamedov said.
