Oriented on making people closer

Turkey remains one of the largest trading partners of Turkmenistan, which demonstrates growth in all areas of the economy, construction, agriculture and the social sphere with the active participation of Turkish investments and the Turkish people, celebrating today the 99th anniversary of the establishment of the Republic. The Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Turkmenistan Togan Oral writes about this in his article for local media sent to ORIENT.

The Ambassador noted that for 99 years Turkey has achieved significant economic success in various sectors of the economy, and the first Turkish domestic electric car launched from the assembly line can be a proof of the high-tech success of the Turkish industry.

In turn, fraternal Turkmenistan, located in the heart of the Great Silk Road, took advantage of its favorable geographical location and rich energy resources, which allowed the country to become a reliable supplier of energy carriers to the world market. In this regard, Turkey will continue to support the implementation of the TAPI project and the Trans-Caspian gas pipeline.

Turkey, being the first country to recognize the independence of Turkmenistan, sent its diplomatic mission to Ashgabat and was one of the first to vote in the UN for the adoption of the status of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan, appreciates the contribution of the fraternal country to ensuring peace and stability in the region.

Despite all the difficulties faced by the states during the pandemic, Turkmenistan and Turkey were able to increase mutual trade turnover by 41% in 2021. For 8 months of this year, this figure is $1.33 billion. At the same time, the Ambassador noted that the countries are making efforts to bring this figure to $ 5 billion. To date, Turkey has implemented 1,065 projects in Turkmenistan totaling over $50 billion, which indicates a high level of mutual trust and close partnership.

At the end of the article, the head of the diplomatic mission congratulated the Turkmen people on the occasion of the 99th anniversary of the establishment of the Republic of Turkey and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries, wishing the two peoples a happy and prosperous future.
