A new phone the Redmi Turbo 4 has been released
04.01.2025 | 15:24 |On January 2, Redmi officially introduced its first smartphone of 2025 — the Redmi Turbo 4. Additionally, it became the world’s first device powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8400-Ultra chipset. Prior to its premiere, the Redmi Turbo 4 was tested on Geekbench, where it scored nearly as high as the Samsung Galaxy S24 in multi-threaded benchmarks (device performance tests). In other words, the Dimensity 8400-Ultra's performance, while slightly behind the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, is still impressive.
A distinctive feature of the Redmi Turbo 4’s design is the integrated lighting system in the main camera block. Two LED rings surround the camera lenses, glowing in different colors and serving multiple functions — acting as a notification indicator, flashing in sync with music, or signaling battery charging status.
The Redmi Turbo 4 is equipped with a 6.67-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2712 x 1220 pixels, and a peak local brightness of 3200 cd/m². The screen has a 120Hz refresh rate and a PWM adjustment frequency of 1920Hz. It also supports touch input when the screen is wet.
The smartphone features a 6550 mAh battery, which has an interesting characteristic. A dedicated chip manages the thermal regulation, and, like in the Xiaomi SU7 electric vehicle, the battery can be quickly heated in low temperatures. Therefore, the manufacturer claims the battery can operate at temperatures as low as -35°C. The battery is rated for 1600 charge-discharge cycles. It supports 90W fast charging, with a full charge taking just 45 minutes.
The front camera is equipped with a 20-megapixel OmniVision OV20B sensor, while the main camera features a 50MP (Sony LYT-600) sensor and an 8MP (SC820CS) sensor. The device has an under-display fingerprint scanner, IP68/IP69 water and dust resistance, stereo speakers, a powerful vibration motor, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, an infrared emitter, and runs on HyperOS 2 based on Android 15. The phone's dimensions are 160.95 x 75.24 x 8.06 mm, and it weighs 203.5 grams.
