The UN has declared 2024 the International Year of Camels
06.12.2023 | 12:02 |The United Nations has declared 2024 the International Year of Camels, the AZERTAC news agency reports, citing the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
This year is intended to highlight the key role of camels in providing the livelihoods of millions of households in over 90 countries around the world.
Camels include various species — from alpacas to double-humped and single-humped camels, guanacos, llamas and vicunias. They have great cultural significance for many communities around the world.
