The 4th International Chemistry Olympiad Opened in Ashgabat
16.10.2025 | 17:30 |On October 15, the solemn opening ceremony of the 4th International Chemistry Olympiad was held at the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly. The event brought together about 260 students from leading higher educational institutions of 10 countries around the world.
Participants included students, postgraduates, and lecturers from Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Iran, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Tajikistan, Romania, and Belarus.
Among the participating universities were Moscow State University named after Lomonosov, the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Kazan Federal University, as well as major universities from China, Iran, and European countries. Competitors are taking part in individual contests in categories A and B. The jury, composed of professors and scientists from Turkmenistan and abroad, ensures that the competitions meet international standards.
In parallel with the Olympiad, an international scientific-practical conference was held at TSU under the theme “The Role of Innovative Technologies in Improving Chemistry Teaching Methods.” Participants of both the conference and the Olympiad also visited an exhibition showcasing achievements in science, education, and chemical technology.
Representatives of foreign universities praised the conditions created at TSU for training chemistry specialists. They noted that classrooms and laboratories are equipped with modern instruments that align with the “education–science–production” system, and highlighted Turkmenistan’s important role in strengthening international cooperation.
The opening ceremony concluded with a large-scale concert program that created an atmosphere of friendship and scientific exchange.
