The humanitarian aid from the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for providing assistance to children in need of care includes medicines, food and textile products, as well as other necessary goods.
On the scale of the tragedy
On August 31, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 was recorded in the Hindu Kush Mountains. It occurred 27 km southwest of the city of Asadabad in eastern Afghanistan. Powerful tremors destroyed entire villages, landslides blocked access roads to some settlements and disrupted communication lines. Rescue operations are being carried out in difficult conditions of remote mountainous terrain, and special forces have been deployed. According to the latest data, the death toll from the natural disaster has exceeded 2.2 thousand, and about 3.6 thousand Afghans were injured. On September 2, another earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 occurred in the Hindu Kush Mountains.
