According to climatologists, climatic summer still continues in Ashgabat during the first ten days of September. The average monthly temperature is +24.3°C, making September the fourth warmest month of the year after the three summer months.
In October, the average monthly temperature drops to +17.1°C. Despite the overall cooling, brief periods of heat are not uncommon, with temperatures reaching +35°C or higher. The average rainfall is 12 mm, but some years see no rain at all.
November remains a relatively stable month, with an average temperature of +9.7°C, which is close to the climatic norm of past decades. The absolute maximum temperature was +35°C (2006), and the minimum was -13.1°C (1944). At this time, the first snowfall is possible, though it occurs on average only once every 5–10 years. November typically sees about 22 mm of precipitation, making it the fourth wettest month of the year.
According to international climate centers, autumn in Ashgabat is expected to be less rainy than usual. The temperature forecast remains less certain: there is a 40–45% chance that average temperatures will be within or slightly above the norm.
The largest temperature increase is expected in the southeastern and eastern regions of the country, while deviations will be minimal in the northern regions. There is a higher probability of below-average rainfall in the south and east of Turkmenistan, as reported by Meteozhurnal.
