Turkmen educators enhance language skills in Almaty through U.S. program

From July 7 to August 4, the city of Almaty is hosting the "C5+ONE (Opening Networks through English)" regional program for English language teachers from Central Asia.

This U.S. initiative brings together 27 educators from Turkmenistan, alongside their counterparts from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. The program aims to improve language proficiency and foster professional connections among participants.

The C5+ONE program is designed for specialists from educational institutions, government agencies, civil society, and the private sector across Central Asia. Its core objective is to enhance participants' career prospects through English language development, strengthen regional cooperation, and promote deeper integration with the global community.

The primary goals of the program are:

• Elevating English Language Proficiency: Improving participants' command of the English language.

• Intensive Practical Training: Providing hands-on learning tailored to professional contexts.

• Strengthening Professional Networks: Fostering connections and facilitating global interaction.

• Developing Personal Potential: Enhancing the individual capabilities of participants.

The program is structured into three main phases:

• Online Course: May 13 – June 9, 2025 (20 hours).

• Intensive In-Person Workshop in Almaty: July 8 – August 3, 2025 (146 hours), which is the current phase for the participating educators.

• Networking and Professional Development Activities: September 2025 – May 2026 (80 hours).

Currently, participants in Almaty are actively refining their knowledge and skills. The program incorporates contemporary teaching methodologies, practical sessions, and master classes. Educators are exchanging experiences and sharing best practices in English language instruction, including the implementation of innovative technologies. Upon completion of their visit, the Turkmen educators will be better equipped to enhance their language skills, expand their professional networks, and integrate advanced pedagogical approaches into Turkmenistan's national English language teaching methodology.
